    Hi all,
I'm finally getting my brand spankin' new Tone King Metropolitan today :)banana) and I wanted some info on breaking in the speaker.

How long does this typically take? Is it just a matter of putting enough sound through it? Anything I should avoid with a brand new speaker?

    Thanks!
    Mike

    There is nothing to avoid.

Speaker break-in is to loosen up the soft parts of the speaker. This will happen naturally over time. Some speakers become 'warmer' after this process. You can accelerate it by various methods (I'm sure many will suggest).. but it's not required... You can just play it.

Just play it. This stuff has gotten way to technical.

Play the amp as loud and often as you can and let it break in naturally!

In 24 hours you can get most any new speaker most of the way broken in. I use a SS power amp, little mixer and an iPod... A pile of pillows and blankets top and bottom in a basement closet. Nearly any music will do, as long as its not too annoying.
