Tex-Mex pickups?

Hey,

I play a tele with tex-mex pickups and play mostly 80's classic rock, which can be anything from The Police to more harder stuff like White Lion's 'Radar Love' and my question is, would i be better of with the original fender standard pickups rather than the tex-mex to achieve the best 'hard-rock' sound?

Cheers.

Sorry, I don't really know a lot about pickups.

For hard rock? Nah. Those pickups are a bit hot and have a fair amount of bite. If you were going for traditional country I'd vote for something else.

Tex Mex are wound a little hotter so you're good with those. Of course, a lot of Andy Summers's stuff would probably sound better with a traditional wind considering how clean his sound is... the guy used Marshall's for clean tone! How many people can say that? LOL
