Maybe, it's just me, but I think Strats are making a comeback. The past few years all you see are Teles.

So, what does most of you think? What's the hottest guitar at the moment?

Come back? Where the heck have they gone? Other than a metal show, I don't know that I have been to a show where there wasn't one.

If Strats are making a comeback, then surely my stockpile of pointy metal guitars can't be far behind.

    Strats "comeback"?
    They didn't go anywhere.

Gibsons and Fenders are definitely the hottest things right now in the mainstream.

Judging by the footage of Glastonbury on TV here in the UK, the guitars to be seen with are currently Telecasters and to a lesser extent 335s and Jazzmasters. Nobody playing much of any great interest on any of them though, sadly.

My buddy who went to see he who cannot be named said he was playing a semi PRS... although the word I have been seeing most on here is still Tele.

wait five minutes , their are not hot guitars in my opinon its all what you like and can afford. I have been watching and buying on here a while and seen a few hot ones or guitars gain interest than fall off the map. I think this si like the news interest can be made and stopped in a heart beat. Same goes for pedals and amps. No bad ones but we create the interest . I try not to hype any guitars just state the facts when I buy one.

With all of the new releases from Fender lately, it seems that Jazzmasters are becoming hot. I also think that vintage Duo-Sonics are on the rise!

Think you're right about Jazzmasters - there are definitely more of them about in the UK lately. I think it's more a matter of looks then anything else - most of them are being used for thrashy rhythm playing that might have suited a Tele better (but Teles are maybe less good for posing with, and look a bit too c&w then they're tarted up?).
