Went on an 80 miler 2 weekends ago. Probably doing it again this weekend. I normally stick to Cat 4 distances and intensity. Danged if that wasn't fun.

I stepped up the miles in July to try and get some fitness for a trip in September. I live in a flood plane. It's as flat as can be. I rode 500 miles in July which is pretty good for me. It is pretty boring though. I should probably ride in a group to mix it up. The roads in Michigan suck so I usually ride my gravel bike for a little more comfort. My Road bike is a felt F2 and all the cracks in the pavement amount to thousands of micro traumas that result in a headache. What I wouldn't give for some smooth pavement and rolling hills.

I was in Michigan a few months back and hell, those roads were bombed out like a war zone.
