Ha Ha! You are now screwed. From now on when you see a guitar you like you will think..."damn if it was only a 7" and you will be stuck ordering custom 7 strings.

    Congrats on the guitar.
I love the color of the back...was it always that color?

Welcome to the love/hate world of 7-string guitar. Your life will truly never be the same. And the idea of not being able to play 6-strings any more is no joke. After a year of playing 7-string, I was completely lost on a 6-string. 7 years later I still feel like a duck out of water when I play a 6-string, but I finally started putting in enough practice on a 6-string that I can finally play about 10% of what I used to be able to play.

BTW, I used to own one of Matte's Bakers as well. It was an amazing guitar and Gene's an incredibly talented builder. The Mean Green that's now in your hands is something of a legend. I remember Gene having progress shots of it on his site all the way through the development process. It was the first guitar with the redesigned peghead and I believe the only Baker with that split trem/fixed bridge.

Is this the guitar that suffered the fractured neck and a new one put in my JG?

Perhaps he was thinking that DiMarzio makes the best 7-string pickups on the planet. I certainly think so.

I think that guitar would have looked better all one color like the back. Surf green is a cool color

Maybe it's just the pictures, but that "trans green whatever" flametop looks terrible.

The green on the top is actually amazing. Its much more vibrant than the pics, Matte sent me some pics he took of it outside in natural light and is much nicer than my pics.

The back color I do not know if it was original, but its cool, the contrast of it with the top. The pearl binding is just beautiful

Yes this guitar was the one with the new BRW neck by Saul. I've lusted for this guitar since I first saw it on the baker forum when Matte first got it. I'm just honored that Matte sold it to me. I never thought I would love a 7 string guitar.

Maybe it was just the angle on the first set of pics. The last pictures look 10x as better. Maybe in person it's a stunner.

I agree with you there Jim, I loved the tone out these pups. I was really surprised how much I liked them at all the different positions. Definately alot differnt than my 6 strings.

I'm confused. People are talking DiMarzio 7-string pickups yet the guitar in the picture has Seymour Duncan pickups. Right?!

Sweet guitar no matter which pups, BTW!:dude
