    Hi guys,
anyone familiar with these THD 2x12 cabs?
How are they compared to other 2x12 cabs you own?
    Thanks for your help.

Andy Marshall at THD is an old friend, but that has absolutely no bearing on what I'm about to say. I've tried pretty much all the 2X12s out there, and still think the THD is the best. The slot port on the back makes it sound a lot like a 4X12, but at 45 lbs. carries in one hand. Makes any amp you plug into it sound great. Felt that way since I first heard one, bought one, and my opinion remains unchanged lots of years later.-Eric.

I've used them before. Pretty good...and suprisingly light for a 2x12. If your back is something that concerns you...that's the one I'd look into.

Got one, love it. Makes my Goodsell Super 17 sound enormous, and has prompted the sale of my Matchless DC30.

I can lift it in one hand, it still sounds large without actually being too much of a volume aggravant, nice articulate low end, and takes the Matchless to the cleaners for overall tone. I'm a happy man.

I love mine! The only other 2x12 I'm looking at would be a Stone Age.

    Thank you guys.
Is there any difference between newer and older models?

IIRC, older models used the identical speakers - whether it was the classic or the longhorn I can't remember - newer ones use one of each.

Another vote for it here - great cab - focused and articulate, makes my lonestar sound tremendous - way better than a mesa cab.

These are great cabs! I replaced the stock speakers with two Eminence Tonkerlite's, this took ~13 lbs off the weight and gave the cab a better tone & efficiency.
