I just discovered this on iTunes. They describe themselves as being inspired by Chick Corea and I assume they're referring to the Electric Band. They remind more of Snarky Puppy: young, talented/skilled and really tight.

A bump because these guys are worth seeing before the thread disappears into oblivion.

Excellant, thanks for that. It's good to hear young guys doing such good music. Helmet of Gnats is another contemporary band you should look into, Fusion/prog thing with great musicianship.

    Nice find Jim.

I like the song, the groove and the playing.

I will have to check these guys out further.

They just got some play on Jazz FM in the UK, with the new album. Wonder what gear Ike Thompson is using. Not the sound I usually associate with a Jazz Chorus (more the sound of discs herniating).

Those are my guys. The CD is excellent. They really go for the Chic Corea Elektric Band vibe. Please support them. The album is great, and they are great people.

Clarence Hill (keys) is a real up and comer. Guys like him, Cory Henry, Isaiah Sharkey, Eldar, Justin Gilbert, etc. will be this generation's versions of George Duke, Herbie, Oscar, Benson, etc.

Some of the same line-up. Mark Scobbie must be the most relaxed drummer doing this style.
