    In way early...

    Continuing from the last thread...

AZ Dbacks fan here but don't really watch a lot on TV. Enjoy catching a game live here or there. I like to grab a dog and a beer at the game and take in the scenery. I would be more of a hockey fan but I'm fair weathered... The Coyotes sucked this year.

I have Bare knuckle Riff Raff's in my LP. They're fantastic. Lots of dynamics available... very open sounding.

BKP Country Boys in my Tele too.

I won't mention which guitar I have BKP Emeralds for.... (Hint... It has something to do with Birds).

    Love BKP's

I'm having a new love affair with an older amp of mine. It's a Gizmoe California Custom that my buddy Kevin made me. It's like an old Fender Tweed something or other but puts out about 20 watts. I have an old Naylor 12" speaker in it and it is just the **** right now!

My latest acquisition has certainly helped feed my obsession with gaze-country

That's what I hear on the soundclips.
I always feel semi-hollow or hollow guitars take a lot of the sparkle fom the pickup sound so, a bright humbucker may be what I'm looking for.
Most of the PAF-like buckers seem to have more present low end and I want to avoid that.

The Blue Roses, or something like that, from Bryan Adams and The Cardigans is pretty good!

Also are you guys cool if I just happen to like Billy Ray Cyrus a lot? Is he still Country? I lost track after he ditched the mullet.

hey erksin- you can listen to any damn thing you want to as long as the Valcoder is let out into the world on the 3rd...then all sins and transgressions are forgiven.

This is what I've got waiting for me in the rehearsal studio. I won't be able to check it out until Saturday, but it's (obviously) a hand-wired BF Twin clone that a local builder made for me. Just in time, too, because I just dropped off my 1973 Vibrosonic Reverb with the amp doctor and have been playing through my Peavey (yuck) Nashville 1000 for the last two gigs. I don't know how the traditional country steel players do it.

Been kind of a stressful morning...my wife is giving her talk in a couple of hours and she's been a bundle of nerves the past couple of days. The lack of sleep hasn't helped. At least she'll be done soon and can finally relax (hopefully).

Looking forward to flying home tomorrow. Banff's been fun, but I'm ready to head back. Nothing beats sleeping in your own bed. And that way I can finally spend some quality time with the Guitar Disruptor :)
