He donating all proceeds to a charity, yes? I thought I’d read that somewhere.

If so, that might be enough for me to like PF. Maybe... lol

After doing a side-by-side comparison between the VB-2W and the Tailspin, I have to admit that the Tailspin is pretty impressive...it can cover a lot of the same territory as the VB-2W, and I appreciate the simplicity (two knobs for rate and depth) and the fact that the knobs are nice and large for easy adjustments. But I think the VB-2 wins out in the end. I prefer the Boss footswitch (the Tailspin footswitch has more of an audible click to it), and I kind of like having the buffer only when the vibrato effect is on (it adds a little high-end shimmer, if that's the right word), so by setting the VB-2W to bypass mode I can achieve that. So I'll send the Tailspin back (unless someone here would like it...if so, hit me up).

The irony of a charity auction of guitars for the planet that is being attended by those who live in 14,000 square feet houses and likely got their on private jets. There needs to be less doing things for the planet and more not doing things.

I agree there should be more 'not doing things'... But these are already made instruments and previously sitting in a warehouse. I'm sure the $20 or 30 million this sale is going to raise is going to be useful for something, and better than the stuff still sitting in a warehouse, no?

Also... watching it, a lot of these people have done not much more than pick up a phone or a computer. A lot of online and phone bidding.

Well, I suppose this is a rather direct redistribution of some of that wealth to a better use. :D

I've been listening to XM Outlaw Country some lately. It seems like the playlist there has evolved in my direction a bit.

Mojo Nixon has the afternoon deejay shift. He played a Gram Parsons song yesterday, then said "We all talk about Gram and how he died too soon. Would he have made a buncha great country rock records, or would he have spun off into some 'New Kid in Town' kind of bullsh!t. We don't fv<kin' know!" and then on to the next song.

That tossed off segue summarized my feelings exactly.

Grams legacy benefited greatly by dying young and the surrounding legend BS. Hillman is a genius that's had his hand in so much amazing stuff and yet no one cares.
