I was just thinking about this last night. If I really really had to break it down to one guitar, a few pedals, and an amp, then I should go with the most flexible guitar, the pedals that cover the most ground but do the fundamental stuff better than anyone (none of that jack of all trades but master of none crap for me), and an amp that can take pedals well, have a gorgeous clean but has a pleasing overdrive when cranked, and can fill up a room but not destroy your eardrums.

Ok, all of that, or just an acoustic guitar. Tie between the J-45 and D-28S. But back to TGP...

The guitar would be my Clapton Strat:

The Amp would be my Pro Reverb:

Hmm, and give me a Rangemaster type thing and a Deluxe Memory Man.

For the rangemaster, I really like the beano boost side of my Sunlion, it has a GE 2N527 transistor in it:

And the analogman modded big box Deluxe Memory Man does it for me:

Edge Optional.

Strat, prri/12inCBlue, Bogner Blue, Carbon Copy, E609 to FOH! This rig will cover ANY gig.
This was my rig last nite in a 150 seat club. Our great PA does the heavy lifting, and the Prri mic's up extremely well.

I'm changing my previous answer.

Fender Twin head* & guitar. That's it.

* It's a tiny bit tweaked, I admit.

Minimalist is how I like my rig, These days, it goes something like:

-Gibson R8 Les Paul
-PWE Event Horizon
-RetroSonic Compressor, Xotic AC Booster, Keeley-modded DD-3 Delay

My guess is that it's gonna stay like this for a while.

I've recently tried downsized (in honor of this thread :) to:

- Les Paul Standard
- Strymon Timeline
- ISP Decimator
- Chi Wah Wah
- H&K Switchblade

I could be cheating with the Switchblade as it has built in effects but I don't use them, I swear :)

It would be hard to go down to 1 amp, both my keepers are great and special to me..

However, guitar and pedals is easy: '52 Hot Rod Tele, any half decent 808 style OD, Fulltone OCD, old EHX DMM.
