Thanks to all those who have advised me on this board my Louis Electric amp has arrived today. I tried one in a local store here in Chicago that completely
blew me away, it was the best sounding amp I have ever heard. The model was the Hubert Sumlin model. I hesitated to buy the amp since based on the recommendations from this board and my playing style the KR12 model would be a better fit for me. So I ordered the KR12 model from Rudy's in NYC.
I am breathless this amp even sounds better, at least for my playing style.
I have never heard such sweet sounds coming from an amp. Every note in a chord is so cleanly defined, the breakup is so smooth and yet so full of that tube character and warmth I have reached Nirvana!! I have also enclosed a picture of my new guitar which is help adding to the feeling of total happiness and content. It is a "one off" master built fender guitar made by Mark Kendrick. Its one of those guitars that feels like it can play itself it is a gently reliced 67 strat.

Got mine last week. Cool amp if you think the guitar-cable-amp way. To me it sounds better with a strat or tele than with humbucker equipped guitars however.

congrats on the Louis, I've had my KR12 head for over 3 months and haven't been happier with my tones.

I notice from the pics that you seem to be plugged into normal 1. I was so happy with that input that I stayed there over a month without trying the other gain stages.

These days I seem happiest with gain input 1 and the foot switch in normal 2, lots of cool tones to be had. nice strat!!

    enjoy.

We spend all our time talking about how amazing Lou's amps sound and almost forget how really great they look. Lou's got a great eye to go along with his ear.
That black tolex with the gold grill looks very fine.
I can't stop admiring my fawn Gattone. It's a very cool retro covering, never saw anything quite like it.

The more I play with this amp the more I am blown away
The sound potential is never ending. I love just playing in channel one
(normal gain) The amp is so responsive! It actually creates a use for the volume knob on the guitar. The distortion is so warm and sweet sounding.
I have never been a big fan of pedals. I own 2; a fultone and a radius which I used to get that everlasting sustain sound for the rare times I play that type of music. On my previous amps these pedals sounded so-so.
Even though The Louis can get that sound on its own using the high gain channel, last night I experimented with the pedals. The radius is a tube distortion pedal and it sounded breath taking through the Louis amp.
This is what an amp is supossed to be about. It is so versitle and sounds so great! Its been a long time since I picked up a piece of gear that so hot it won't let me put my guitar down.

Big KR12 fan here!! Nothing in my arsenal can touch it.
Killer vintage tones all the way up to modern.
The rhythm tones are as killer as the lead tones.
So much harmonic overtone and detail goin' on!!

    Highly recommended!!!!

Congrats on your purchase! I have one as well and I love it! Try pegging the negative feedback adjuster in the back and setting the master halfway. The amp sounds huge this way. If you do this with the master up it;s a little too much though.

Louis Electric shared a booth with Hahn Guitars at Summer Namm in Nashville last week. Premiere Guitar Magazine shot a short video in the booth, featuring an amazing young guitarist named Carl Bradychok. He wandered into the booth and plugged in, naturally, everyone went nuts. He seems eerily reminiscent of Danny Gatton, so it's no coincidence that he sounds GREAT playing a vintage tele style Hahn Model 228 thru a Louis Electric Tremblelux amp ...

Jay, since we have followed each other in our tone quest, your recommendation and the words have others is going to force my hand to try one of these bad boys. I will wait until Rudy's gets another one here in the city and check it out...darn GAS...

    That kid is awesome...

I spoke with Lou yesterday regarding my fully updated KR12 (finally on its way back to me!), and he said the Tremblelux sounds amazing, not quite as big sounding as the KR12 but has its own wonderful thing going on. Can't wait to hear it.
