What do you all think are some of the best pairing or combination of Celestions?

    I was thinking V-30 and G12-65, or V-30 - G12k-100 as another good one I have tried.

Also, does anyone know if the G12K-100 was ever made in England?

I like a mix of g12h and g12m in a 2x12. They compliment each other nicely. I know a lot of guys around here are running the same combo.

Celestion G12H-30 (both Heritage series and 70th anniversary) + Celestion Blue. The non-Heritage actually sounds a bit less "vintage-y" and a bit more punchy in the mids to my ears.

I like either G12H30 teamed with a Blue in an open back cab.

    I have a cab with a G12K100 and was thinking of a V30 or another G12K, but this time a G12K100.

I heard the G12-65 mixed with a V-30 is GREAT! No?

Ive tried it with 2 1x12 cabs -too much mids for me. The G12H-30/G12-65 combo is the best Ive tried.....They compliment each other very nicely. I like my G12K-100's by themselves. bob

+1. I have tried lots of different speakers and combinations and like the G12H30 Anniversary + G12M Greenback reissue the best so far. Its in an Avatar Vintage 2x12 open back cabinet. Great punch, clarity and grind. I read somewhere that's what Matchless runs in their 2x12s and gave it a try. Great combo.

I use a Celestion Gold with a G12H-30, in my open-backed 2x12. I just keep coming back to this great combination.

I just got a G12-65, so there's 2 more combinations I will be trying out shortly.

Blue and a Gold works pretty well, all the chime but not all the bottom dropping out, a good mix

I may be in the minority, but I prefer a plain old pair or quad of g12m's. I've done the mixing thing (greenies w/ G12H or alnico weber blue dogs) and it can sound nice, but there's something I like better about straight greenbacks.

    i agree.
i tried replacing one of the greenbacks in my 2x12 with a g12h30 (70th anny)
and it did not last long at all.
the two greenbacks sound great together.

i do like running the 2x12 (greenbacks) together with my 1x12 (V30) though.

i also like the combo in my other 2x12, a celestion black shadow90 along with an EV.

I've got a 2x12 closed back with a V30 and Greenback that sounds great for classic rockish stuff.

Tone Quest has printed that out of hundreds of combos they've tried over the years that the Gold and G12H-30 Hellatone mix is tonally the very best rock tone they've ever encountered (driven by a vintage AC50 or AC30).

I do not have personal experience with that, but thought the comment might prove useful.
