    No such thing.

    Sorry. Be prepared to compromise at that price point. But don't worry - the better compromises sound really nice.

    RNP from the folks at FMR would be around $450. Otherwise your gonna be using mackie pre's....

    I bought a Presonus MP20 with Jensen transformers (aftermarket upgrade) used for around $300 and I'm very happy with it.

    I have to agree with the RNP (Really Nice Pre) from FMR. Nice headroom and great cleanish sound.

    Buy an old solid state Telefunken/Siemens/TAB etc like the 672
