The Big List of Guitar Cab Makers

In response to custom and other cab questions, I've often posted a list of custom guitar speaker cab makers. I've finished my research today, and added a large number of new listings, and I'd rather just get a comprehensive list completed and archived to make it easier for everyone to update and refer to it (along the lines of the recent comprehensive amp builder lists). Over time, I'll be adding a brief line for each cab maker that describes any specialties, etc.

Here's the list I have so far, please feel free to post any other guitar cab builders, and I'll update the list.

Also, I've listed some amp builders who appear to make very popular or unusual stock cabs. Feel free to post any others you know of (and I will definitely add any amp/cab builder who would like to be listed - just PM or email me). But I'd like to avoid simply duplicating every amp builder on the other thread listings (many who obviously offer their own cabs), hope that makes sense.

Thanks!
td

I'm listing the cabs in the following posts:

Custom - pure custom cab builders who will build whatever you can dream up

[8/11/05 NOTE - I've also started a new section as a service to amp builders]:

Wholesale Cabs - a section for cab manufacturers that specialize in the production of cabs for amp manufacturers in quantity, and have production capacity sufficient to meet the needs of that market.

Stock - cab builders who offer their own designs only

International - for our international members, a resource of cab builders across the world

Raezers Edge Cabs
Important news!
"Rich Raezer passed away July 7 2005. His cabinets continue to be available without any changes or modifications. All of his designs, tools, fixtures and equipment have been relocated to Hartland, Wisconsin. The business is now owned and operated by the Hale family, Derek, Jeff and MaryEllen. Along with our cabinet builder Justin Dodson, we are proud to carry on the same tradition of excellence as produced by Rich Raezer."
RIP Rich, you will be missed.
Best of luck to the Hale family and Raezers Edge!

Also, a big name in France:

NOS

these guys do really excellent cabs.
I tried a pair of NOS 2x12" w/V30s with a CAE 3+SE and a VHT power amp, and it was extremely impressive.

Thanks a lot for the lists, that's very helpful . I juts discovered Dino's cabinets from Italy, very cool looking cabs at an interesting price.

Hey Scott are you going to make an archive section for these great threads? I thought these types of threads are a tremendous tool for anyone seeking gear and don't know where to start....

If you guys make an archive consider these as well:

Well, tis my point. If you post it... it is archived. We no longer prune any threads outside of the Emporiums.

So, if you post it.... it is archived by default now.

Maybe something like this should go in a whole new "FAQ" section
list of Amp makers, Cab makers, Guitar makers etc. .. (could start a whole new monstrous section ... )

I have another possible entry for you. A guy named JD Newell who (as far as I know) doesn't currently have a web page but who often has/had cabs on ebay. AFAIK he only does Fender style cabs. Things like cabs for vibro-clones. He's very reasonable price wise. The only contact info I have is this email address: JDNEWELL@ALLVANTAGE.COM

He made me a nice combo cab for a bandmaster reverb chasis with a 12 & 10 baffle. He's a stickler for tight tolerances, no slop. In fact it took a little wrangling to ease the front panel between the baffle and the top but like I said its pro work, and good tolexing too. And packed like it was going to Nepal or something ;)

Search the fender forum for JDNewell and you'll get some hits none of which have anything bad to say about him. One of the posts there had this from an (old?) web site of his:

"CABINETS ARE CONSTRUCTED FROM FINGER JOINTED PINE BOXES WITH 3/4" BIRCH 10 PLY PLYWOOD BAFFLES AND 1/4" PLYWOOD BACK PANELS. EXTENSION CABINETS HAVE 1/2" BIRCH PLYWOOD BACK PANELS & SPEAKER JACK. ALL PRICES INCLUDE BACK PANELS, HANDLE, AND CHROME CORNERS."

Great list! Since you already have some amp makers who sell cabs I would consider adding companies like Two Rock, Fuchs, Bruno, Divided By 13, etc who also sell cabs.

Also, it is unlikely that Raezers Edge will continue to make cabs. Rich Raezer was killed by his son on July 7th in a domestic dispute. The company is currently closed and Rich's family is refunding deposits for orders that can not be filled.

Tone Loco:
I've added JD Newell to the list of custom cab makers, thanks for the info!

FVB:
Thanks for the additions! I've added Two Rock, Fuchs, Bruno, and Divided By 13 to the list of stock cab makers, and will add more stock cab manufactures as time allows.

I've also noted that Raezers Edge is closed until further notice (as it says on their website). I'm going to leave it on the list as long as the website is up (in case the family decides to reopen), and as a tribute to Rich Raezer (RIP).

I've also added a new section as a service to amp builders:

Wholesale Cabs:
This section is for cab manufacturers that specialize in the production of cabs for amp manufacturers in quantity, and have production capacity sufficient to meet the needs of that market. If you are a custom cab maker (even if you're already listed), and want to be listed in the "Wholesale" section, just post here or email me.

I appreciate everyone who takes the time to post additional cab sources! I add new sources most every month as I find them, but there is no way I can find or know about every cab maker. Your help is appreciated in making this the most comprehensive source of cab info on the internet! Keep adding the names of new cab makers as you find them, too!
