It's two feet seven inches due south of the sycamore tree. ;)

One of the benefits of being poor is that you can't afford to buy 'vintage' pieces being sold by convicted forgers and handlers of stolen guitars in one of the ads in the OP.

Rather than cast any more aspersions on public forum, I'll let you Google each dealer.

What’s funny about that is there have been a number of times I’ve had the house to myself or have some time after the toddler goes down to bed and I’m just so exhausted I don’t even look at my guitar.

But that’s for another (probably already existing) thread.

Yeah, okay, 'This nature" *WINK WINK*

Look, what I'm saying is, OP made this post specifically to just pan on obviously WAY overpriced guitars that's he's already mocked on the forum as being way overpriced as a smirky troll joke. "Oh, I'm so glad I'm not rich, because I'd waste all my liquid rich-man money on guitars that are obviously overpriced."

But the comments? They aren't "Yeah, no kidding, those are crazy expensive." It's 'Yes, I'm also glad I have less money, because it totally allows me to focus on playing', or 'I'm blessed to be able to afford nice things.' Because the trolling just blew right by everyone, causing people to try and have honest conversations, and allowing the troll-snowball to just keep on rolling.

And the troll kicker? OP is always posting threads that seems specifically geared towards him eventually showing pictures of WALLS of supro amps. "I'm so glad I'm poor..." as if the 6 amps propping up his $1,000 guitar weren't $1,500 a piece, using yet another wall of supro's and instruments as a background.

So yeah, I'm not sure he ever posts a thread honestly - they always seem to be some s--t-stirring subtle-troll with the end game of posting an album of Supro gear that might not really be his.

So I'm just going to call BS, and let everyone know now OP POSTED THIS AS A JOKE. This is not a serious discussion on the virtues of restraint or wealth. Move along, nothing to see here.

    I disagree with the above.
I'd like to add that you come across as a very hostile person. Relax friend. There's no need to go on a character-assassination binge.

Not quite sure what to think of this thread but let's get one thing straight. Nobody using a phone or computer to post on a guitar forum is truly poor. Maybe not wealthy but surely not poor.

For me, like a previous poster I appreciate nice things for myself (not to show them off or for status) and take good care of them. I've had lots of disposable income and very little but I always try to save for what I will appreciate (within reason of course).

I hear you. I stopped playing for over 10 years when my daughter was young. Now she’s a teen and I’m back (in black)!

I have no interests in those guitars and that was before I seen the prices. You have to be a nut to buy those. They are pieces of old wood. Think of how many mouths you can feed. But oh no you need to purchase that smelly piece of rare wood. don't ya, huh yes you do, that smelly piece of wood.

Interesting thread. Assuming one survives whatever hand is dealt them, the lesson(s) learned can be invaluable. It may be poverty, personal tragedy or something else. I grew up dirt poor but have been fortunate enough to live a comfortable life as an adult. Ironically, my improved life situation caused me to covert material things less. Some of my guitars and amps are expensive, some aren’t. All get a lot of use as I don’t collect for the sake of collecting.

Fella, you're seriously amusing with your over-the-top rant against the OP. You actually claimed credit for being sharper than the rest of us by pointing out "the trolling just blew by everyone". You would be a bit too aggressive to make it to full time Moderator in my humble opinion. In the future when you bust someone, don't insult everyone else in the same post.
    Self-awareness OM.....repeat that as a mantra.

Im not rich nor poor. I do have a decent income. I don't smoke, do drugs or gamble. I barely drink. Im addicted to women but most of them are free. So I spend my money on my hobbies which involves guitars, tools or cars. I spend mostly on guitars and amps. I spend them on used Bogner Amps (6) and Custom Shop Guitars (8). I figure I spend my money on things that really matters to me instead of buying junkets. Our time is limited you cannot spend that money when your six feet under. It sucks to be poor I know. I grew up in the slums of the Philippines.

This kind of "poverty porn" is really quite sad.

OP, are you really poor? Like you don't have three square meals a day? Aren't able to afford heating? Have to eat at soup kitchens?

And is it true you have a wall of Supros?

Basically everyone is drawn to this thread expecting to see some kind of public spectacle of someone being poor. Attracted like flies. I came half expecting some really sad story and the other expecting to be trolled.

I'm really sad that you titled this, "The blessing of being poor". You obviously neither care for poor people and also seem to love rubbing their noses in it.

    "Oh you're so poor".

I really need to make it a point to start avoiding these clickbait headlines on TGP like the plague. They seem to get worse with every one I go through.

OP be all like Kim Kardashian with his penchant for headings that grab attention, ick.

Yes, but not in relation to guitar gear.

I could really use a new car.
