After years of Yearning & Gassing I pulled the plug last week! I wanted a Clapton strat, but wanted it in 7up green (which they discontinued in 2009) I was about to settle for another color but I found one! It was worth the wait! & plays like a dream.

Well, they actually had to change the name from 7up green to Candy Green for legal reasons. It really is a great guitar- The original owner had all of the case candy (hang tags...) & everything. It has 9's on it and I use 11's so I am going to change that & pull the trem block out so I can use the trem but it really is a work of art

Nice! The color really is better than the other options.

Fender for what ever reason discontinued that color- (or on the Clapton model) I think you can get it from their custom shop.

Isn't it? A few years ago I almost pulled the trigger on an oly white Strat because the price was fantastic ($350 for a Jimmy Vaughan in the used section--although it was new, must have been a floor model--at Guitar Center) but it wasn't what I really wanted. I wanted a black one to mod to Gilmour specs. I passed on it and instead waited for the black one, and I couldn't be happier.

Congrats on your new 7-up green Strat. May it bring many years of enjoyment!

Did it come with the Trem blocked?

Congrats. Others are green with envy.

Love the 7-UP! My favorite Strat model. I've owned 5, all very nice, and still cherish my 'keeper', a black CS Masterbuilt (Krause) model. The on board boost is addictive. A much more versatile set up than many imagine. Enjoy!

If someone in the 7-Up company's legal dept told Fender they couldn't call a guitar "7-Up green," then someone in legal is a dumb piece of sheetrock.

Yes they put a block of wood in the trem cavity. I am not whammy crazy but I do like to use it on a few songs so I removed it. Put 11's on it and it really plays like a dream. With the TBX (Clapton circuit) the tones are really limitless. Can almost get a humbucker sound or pull it back for single coil love!

That's a great color, I knew someone back in late 80s who had one that color.
