1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

Plexiglass, see-through guitars have been around since the late 60's.

Guitarists choosing stage guitars for the way they look as opposed to the way they sound has been around even longer.

Anyway, can we just get back to not commenting on anything in contemporary pop that's not Greta Van Fleet because this is getting embarrassing.

I see written communication and comprehension are not your forte. Carry on.

Yes, I agree, good tone is completely subjective. And I will go even further, I think good tone isnt really very important.

You do understand why I won't be taking written communication tips from the guy who wrote this:

These sound nice. Jump ahead toward the end of each to hear them. Guy's also a good player.

I think it's well understood at this point.

"Tonewood" is what happens to your body when you hear outstandingly good tone.

there's no debate here; that methyl methacrylate guitar went perfectly with her outfit.
She should fill it with propylene glycol like Johnny5 does.

The grammy's are a celebratory show of art- all of the art which goes in to the creation of music. Pretty as a peacock or recluse as miles blowing down into a corner of the stage.

In other news, I read this morning that Flea's signature Bass listings went up by 33% following his performance.

Let that sink in- how cool is that to catch as a wave and amplify a market for gear? I think it's really cool.

I'll say that if some hopeful kid inspired by her music winds up with this guitar design so they can be just like HER, that's a win.

Act quickly; listings are up! ;)

So somebody picked a Lucite Strat, based on its appearance, for a TV show. Nobody on TGP ever selects (or trashes) a guitar based mostly on appearance? (E.g., some people will never buy a Heritage because of the shape of the headstock.)

I don't care what guitars are made out of, I DO care that there may be people who haven't seen this, because it is PERFECT

    thanks for the response.
i didn't understand your meaning, though, in relation to what i proposed as a possibility.

i do understand that you respond more to songs than to "tone"; personally, i respond more to music's content, its intention & its execution by the artist/composer than to some forcibly, separately idealised vision of "tone" --- whether the music is presented in a typical song-format or any other form.
still, i remain aware that "tone" is inextricably woven in+through music, part & parcel of music's pulsing lifeblood.
    so there's that.
    ymmv.

    Sounded fine to me.
Tim Pierce played in the house band presumably with a HSS guitar made out of wood & all that sounded good.
