More of my strat noodlings...
Nice playing, Frank! It reminded me a little of Hendrix's album with the songs "Freedom" and "Keep on Pushing" and "Angel" (can't think of the name of that album)
Anyway, sounds great. . .
I give it a 10! :AOK
ya -Hendrix in yer blood-is this still a SuperReverb? ( if memory serves?)
i really like the melodic pop bridge & back to the wailing -very cool writing!
great to hear again!
Thanks so much John and it's great to have you back! Anyway here is the rig i used...David Bray Mod 1 Super lead 100 and JMP 50.
Friggin cool stuff Frank!!
Love those tones you got!!
Gonna have to download some that
Geez-no neighbours??? man that is one helluva rock rig--
what year is the Strat?
"real" gear for men!! ya mon!
Thanks John...the strat is a 1982 '62 reissue with 1968 strat PU's and electronics. I highly recommend David Bray's modded Marshalls, one of the best amps I've owned. My Les Paul custom really screams through that amp.
More good fun
love the strat-fatness
Thanks bro....I appreciate your comments.:BEER
I absolutely hate you. That's the sound I'm trying to get. PLEASE give me some pointers on getting that sound! Tone, song and playing are all wonderful.
WOW!!!! I have to go shed on some more jimi. I feel like such a hack.
by the way, please tell me you have a CD of this stuff. If so, let me know where to order it.
Jack, Your totally trippin'...your music is awesome, and I'm one of your biggest fans. I'm achieving this tone using a David Bray modded HW 59 Marshall Superlead 100 reissue with mod 1 for the solos. http://www.davidbrayamps.com/ David Bray is a brilliant tube amp tech that really seems to know his stuff. A few trusted friends like my guitar tech here in West Palm Beach, FL.... Steve Siciliano of http://www.palmbeachguitars.com/ advised me to put all this gear together and when he came over and played through it even he was blown away and he is very rarely impressed by most newer gear. The dirty rhythm tracks are the Bray and a JMP 50 watt together coming out of a A/B box with an RC booster in front onto 2 separate tracks of Logic Pro audio software using SM57. I included a photo of the rig above in the post. Both amps sit in a spare bedroom and are cranked pretty loud. I'm going for Band of Gypsies meet Mike Landau live tone. I got closer on a tune I recorded a few months ago called " Lock and Load" here is the link:
The clean tracks are my 2 blackfaced Fender Super Reverbs '65 and '66 running in stereo using a vintage Chandler digital echo and MXR script logo 1976 dyna comp I recently scored on Ebay on Steve Siciliano's suggestions...the echo is the closest thing I've found to a real echoplex with that great modulation effect on the repeats...sounds like old tape kinda flanging and chorusing a bit out of tune without the maintenance hassles...very Jimi. Are You Experienced?
Let me know if this was helpful.
I'm in the process of releasing a CD on an indie label soon. In the meantime you can purchase my MP3 singles here...
Thanks for sharing the equipment/recording info. I have the feeling it's more in your fingers than the equipment though.
In the meantime, could you pick out a CD's worth of tracks that you think I'd like and I'll purchase them on soundclick?
I've put what are my personal top 12 or so tunes at the top of my music page on soundclick....you can pick from there.
Great tone, writing, style, and playing.
Wow ... Frank .. great stuff...
Don't think I've ever learned a Jimi solo in my life,
but dig cats, like yourself, who have made him part of their soul ...
