i have one.
Still have noise......i now believe.......it's the AMP !!!!!!!!!!
Have to go through more troubleshooting it seems.

If you can go the rack route i fully agree with what the Bear is saying.
It really makes no sense in the PF 1800 to SHOW voltage you cannot control.....yippeee....ya.....thanks.....ok....now what ??

I do feel better having the unit for what it is, than to not.
I'm not set up for racks.

though i love racks.
: )

on ebay in NY you can get them for about $280.00
which is alright.

in Canada.......F'n FORGET ABOUT IT !!!!!!!!!!!
not paying the markup that L&M dishes out...no way.

I'm really saddened that this unit DID NOT solve all your problems and you think its still an amp problem.I have a strong feeling that I 'd be in that same boat. I'm an amp novice{three years} and I just don't know what to do next. I still may see if I can buy and try out the 1800 and return it if its not the answer. And $899 is too many pennies for me for that AR unit.

I'm an amp novice myself, with just a lot of interest.
Look into a used Furman if possible, that's what i did.

My problem with that one amp i've known in my gut that it was the amp.
I think the VR control is off, and will figure it out when i can $$$

IMHO - do not get the power conditioner unless you need it for your studio, do lots of boat gigs, or play outside a lot. Get a great voltage regulator if you haven't already go one and deal with the noise (my Decimator knocks out a lot of noise). I have a Furman Power Factor Pro (rack) and it was of marginal help in getting rid of noise (yes - I dealt with the single coils, good cabling, copper shielding, not stack electronics on the amp, etc. to rule out all other possibilities). Perhaps it works for some but not knowing all the condtions, its too hard to know exactly what works - without being there. Here:

Another option is to get a Furman Powr Factor Pro line conditioner (it's the previous version/inception of the P-1800 power conditioner) at a reduced cost and see if it works for you. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=fu...an+1215&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Well this morning I placed an order for a Furman p 1800 pf after talking with ryan, one of the tech men. He said it probably won't solve all noise problems ,like single coil but May help. I got a "scratched " unit not refurbised for $297 including no tax and free shipping. Also I have 45 days to return this unit if I'm not pleased for a full refund. I thought that was FAIR and their return policy was the deal closer.By the way I did this deal with American Music Supply.
