I remember, I went to two of these. His name is Steve, and he and his wife were in a band, who was there to be the house band for these events. Steve and his wife also cooked up a huge BBQ, and he was a big dog lover. I remember he had a German Sheppard ot two. Lots of fun there.

So this thread is great. I joined the PRS forum in the 90's, prior to having a PRS, but knowing I would have one. I actually had a backplate with Paul's autograph before I had a PRS guitar to put it on, meeting Paul at an event he was doing at the Ram's Head in Annapolis.

After eventually getting a PRS, the forum taught me a lot of things, and "cost" me a lot of money! Almost all of my gear either came from actually buying it on the forum, or learning about a certain type of guitar etc. I met Joe Driskill through the forum.

One of the best memories I have is the annual PRS Forum CD that would be done. Some great music there, I still have about three "volumes" of the CD's, plus numerous other CD's from great music that was shared on the forum. Some great bands that don't exist anymore (Sonic Girl, Accidental Groove, Pharmacy Prophets etc), great band names too! I was also lucky enough to be introduced to Ariel Pozzo's music, what a fantastic player.

    Great memories.

    Great player.

I joined about 6 months before the end I think.
Waiting on my first PRS order...it didn't actually arrive until after the forum closed and BAM was up and running.

    Good times.

I was not aware either, and that would indeed be very sad. Ron, didn't you bui;ld a guitar for Steve with a German Sheppherd inlay on the backplate?

I was a long time member of the PRS Forum, going back to '99 or '00 (if I remember correctly). Being still in High School and just getting into playing guitar and discussing gear, I was always impressed by the kind, welcoming and helpful atmosphere.

I was also lucky enough to attend the 2003 PRS Forum Event, enjoyed meeting Brian, Scott Peterson, bluesdoc, Jon Silberman (he was taller than I expected), Mark Ray, Carl Floyd, Leon C., Chiba, Alec Lee (among many others). That was the first time I ever saw a Thorn in person (Leon's blue dolphin model, I believe), and also the first time I got to play a McNaught, although I can't remember who brought it.

These days I've been a bit busy with work and other things, so my playing has taken a back seat, but this continues to be one of the few internet forums I lurk, because of the carryover of great people I still remember from the early days.

I'm pretty sure he had some serious health problems. I hope I'm wrong...
