Isn't about time to start the thread for the good and the bad of 2009? Those pedals you loved and those you got rid off 1 hour after the box arrived..

Who wants to start? I have to make the list, I bought-traded-sold a lot this year!

    Keepers this year:
    FoxRox Aquavibe
    Sonic Research Turbo Tuner
    Analogman King of Tone
    BYOC Bender
    BYOC Phaser

    Let go, but actually liked:
ZVex Tremolo Probe - lots of fun but I needed the trade value for some essential gear... still wish I kept it though
Sovtek/EH Green Russian Muff - My wife had been using this on bass but she found she got WAY better results from a Peppermint fuzz. Traded the muff for a Brown Rabbit which also delivers nicely on bass.

    Happy to let go:
StroboStomp 2 - Sad since this was an xmas gift from my wife a few years back, but she's somewhat of a gearhead too, so she understands!

    Incoming:
I've got an Analog Man ARDX20 Delay in the mail right now, so I'll be able to make a call on that one in a few days, although I suspect it will be a keeper.

I bought a used RetroSonic Phaser for $80. That was a good score. I also got on the list for an AnalogMan KOT. I'm looking forward to playing that in.....2011. Also have a Hartman Analog Flanger in the mail. Hope that one lives up to my expectations.

The Good = My Klon I got in October, it's not coming off my board!
The Flipped = Keeley TS9 Mod + It was simply not for me.
The Mistake = Selling my Keeley Fuzz Head (DAMN), 2010 will probably mark the return unless my wife gets pregnant which means the end of my guitar days!!!

I basically built my dream board this year after selling a bunch of stuff. Here are the main things

    Keepers:
    Ethos TLE
    King of Tone
    Box of Rock
    Boss DD-20
    Hardwire RV-7 Reverb
    VL Microvibe
    Turbo Tuner
    Micro POG
    Lovekraft Chupacabra

    Got rid of Quickly:
Fuzz Factory (the Chupacabra was the fuzzy sound I was looking for)
Moog Bass Murf (cool but too noisy)

Got rid of only to fund the above purchases:
    Gibson Echoplex Digital Pro+

  6. PlexiFuzz

PlexiFuzz I know karate. Voodoo, too.

    Skreddy Echo
    Skreddy Lunar Module
    Skreddy Screw Driver Deluxe
    Wattson Classic Fuzz
    Catalinbread WIIO
    Blackout Musket

    Liked, but let go:
    Catalinbread DLS
    Mojo Hand JuJu Boost

    Did not like at all:
    Analogman KOT

    Good:
    Wilson Effects Wahs
    Lovepedal Les Lius
    Signa Drive
    Matchless DC30

    Bad: (overpriced Tube Screamer pedals)
Klon ...I know I'll catch grief for this, but I don't need another "great buffer" yada yada yada. The sound is good, but there are others that are better.
Rockbox Boiling Point ...Again a good pedal, but I want a clean boost in it's own pedal and a TS as it's own pedal (that doesn't cost $350)

I would have to say, ugly, is the boss DS1 and ibanez SM7 sitting in the back seat of my car while its in the shop. hahah

Biggest mistake: Buying an Echoplex. No other delay comes close.

    Let go, but actually liked:
Hardwire DL-8 - Sounded good, but looper wasn't for me.
Timefactor - Sound quality an issue, especially for looper and tape modes (have since been fixed )
Malekko Ekko 600B - Not enough options for me, lacking in modulation.
SMMH - Too digital when slammed with lots of dirt, endless tweaking & less playing
Memory Boy - Can't stand up to EP
Tone Reaper Fuzz V1 - Too compressed for my needs, sounds killer though.
Timmy - When I realized I could get OD by volume knobbing a fuzz, sold this. Stupid move.
Boss RC-2 - Led to wankery and general laziness of playing. Good learning tool but needed to let go.
Nova Repeater - Same as SMMH, too digital when hit with a ton of fuzz. Nice delay though.

    Sold and happy about it:
    Sheraton II
    G&L ASAT Special Tribute
    Tempo Hollowbody (60's)
    DRRI
    Genz Benz Black Pearl 2x12
    G&L Legacy Special

    Bought and kept:
    Pitchblack
Flying Tomato Fuzz (but it's for sale, on the fence about it)
    '65 Bandmaster/Avatar 2x12

    It's been a busy year.

    The 'i can't believe i bought that'
    all the ring mods

    GOOD

    BK Butler Tube Driver (amazing)
    Retro-Sonic Delay
AnalogMan Peppermint Fuzz (not versatile? BAH!)

    BAD

Danelectro Anything (all the cool cats except overdrive just suck, don't care who they're ripping off . . . )
Bad Monkey (Great pedal, just became redundant whe I got something better)

    Here is mine...

    Kept.

Pharaoh Echo Jr. Digital "analog" delay, not great but good enough.
Baja Tech Custom Das Fuzz. Good germanium crunchiness.
    Hardwire DL8. I love it!
Fulltone 70. Don't use it much but it stays.
Mahoney Buzz Tone. Very nice pedal!
Analogman KOT. It lives to its legend..

    Didn't stay.

    Hartman BC108 Fuzz.
It didn't get along with my Fender Jaguar.
Danelectro CC Drive. No, this one I didn't like.
Subdecay Blackstar. Still thinking why oh why did I sell it.
Moody Sounds Mushroom Echo. Didn't find a use for it.
Boot-leg Gain Helper. Didn't pass the cut.
Barber Half Gainer. The bigger dissapointment of this year!

Wishlist for 2010: A nice tremolo, and one more delay.

Ugly: Dice Works. It may very well be a great pedal, but I'll probably never see it, nor my money back...

    My finds of the year:

Barber Super Sport - replaced my Keeley Rat 2 for med gain riffage. Like a Rat with more low end and sparkle.
MI Audio Boost N Buff (orange) - indispensable for both the buffer and the boost. Separate vol and gain knobs are a real plus.
    Retro-Sonic Phaser - How I always wished a Phase 90 sounded.

Disappointments of the year (what can I say, fuzz just doesn't work that well with my setup):

Skreddy Ernie - Top Fuel is back on my board, sounds perfect.
    Lovepedal 200lbs
    Zvex Fuzz Factory

Honorable Mentions (not on my board, but I still like):

    Blackout Musket Ver 2
    Barber Trifecta
