I think the Bigsby is a beautiful invention and a great tool in the right hands. However, I voted no bigsby for me. In fact, I have a hardtail Duo Jet. I even bought it that way on purpose. It's a Gretsch that stays in tune for days at a time. That's pretty special.

I love how a Bigsby looks, but I don’t really use them much. I’ll never forget trying to describe the first one I saw to a friend of mine, back in 1999: “There’s a roller, and then another roller, and the strings go under one and over the other, and I dunno it looks like headgear or something for the guitar and whatever it is it looks _awesome_”

So on most of my guitars I replace the spring with a piece of pipe.

This guitar in particular is all about form over function, as I added a middle pickup for looks, but only the bridge pickup and master volume are even connected, and I blocked the Bigsby aaaaand chopped the bar off :D
