Nile Rodgers’ Hitmaker, pedalboard and amp setup, today in London!

This is a lesson in professional simplicity: an iconic guitar, a mighty excalibur he’s built a career with, and then simple, ordinary gear, easily replaceable should anything go wrong.

That dude is not a guitar player.

He's a composer (I'd normally say songwriter but dude), performer, and producer who also happens to play guitar. And he's awesome at it.

He focuses on what is important.
Seriously? Have you ever watched a video where he simply plays? Not necessarily music he’s written, just loose playing of funk, rock, jazz lines?

With impeccable touch, taste and tone, always with a big smile on, and talking story while he plays?

I’d say he is both an exceptional player and composer.

Very cool, thank you for sharing. I love how he just uses basic stuff that you go to guitar center and buy and yet dudes a certified legend. Definitely a lesson in that.

The man is the whole package. Dude has more talent in his little finger than anyone here. And yeh he plays guitar therefore he’s a guitarists. He’s definitely much more than that but I imagine he probably started with just a guitar in his bedroom and a dream like everyone does.

Very cool, thanks for sharing these pics! I forget where I heard it, but Nile was being interviewed, (I think within the last 2 years), and told a story about how he actually left it on a train when visiting his mother, and had a few nerve wracking hours getting it back!

That’s the real guitar? I don‘t remember seeing it with this much wear. And I’m shocked that it is transported in such a thin/cheap-looking gig bag. Like putting a Faberge egg in a Walmart backpack.
