no love for the minor 7? You prejudiced #ucks
Another one -- and it's a good one:
Trey Anastasio uses a Cmaj7 chord on the song “If I Could” on the Phish album Hoist.

In The Evening has a maj7 chord after the solo during the bridge
prominent Cmaj7 in "I Alone" off of Live's Throwing Copper album...
Down in the Tube Station - The Jam
Nine pages and no Trower?
Several, I'd say. First passage:
"Big A Riff" -> Emin7 FMaj7 CMaj7 BbMaj7 E7#9
The entire Trower tune I referenced is built upon that iconic minor 7 chord!
Well, actually a BbMaj 7 chord is a Gm7 chord with a 9 rather than 7.... But, you could play the 7 too! Chord descriptions are just a snapshot in musical time dependant on what's accompaning it.....Let's go make some music!
I use maj7 and maj9 voicings all the time, even with overdriven tones, and it adds much richness and lushness without sounding like yacht rock.
I will double check that on piano when I get home.
How do y’all feel about a Bbmaj7(no3rd)?
I think it’s well used in this intro to Birds Of A Feather by Phish.

Never ever ever thought I would play a Bread song, but now it’s a Cake song, so we’re working it in.
Something about this version really sticks with me. Great possibilities for a jam at the end with the E > C.
(Actually off Pressure Chief, not Fashion Nugget.)
sharing my new release here since the second track on the EP (and damn near 50% of my songs overall) leverage the maj7 chord - hope you enjoy!
