I have a real love hate thing with this amp. I love how it sounds live in the room, I hate how hard it is to record. My JSX records much easier.
This is the only decent clip I've been able t do so far(with KT-77's)

This is my Express 5:50 1x12. I really like the cleans and the ability to switch to 5 watt mode. I think my favorite channel is the blues channel.

I haven't recorded with this amp in a long time, but I still like it very much. I've got a couple of old clips, (one done in '99, and the other recorded around '85), at: http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=3820&alid=-1
(Clip #25-the Boogie doesn't come in until 1:25 & clip #36- all Boogie)
Sorry, the playing ain't that great and is really dated, (I don't know why I keep this old stuff).

Here's a pic of my Mark IIC+ in a new claro walnut head cab custom made by our own boogieongtr. The head cab is 3" taller than the standard size Mesa head cab so a nice reverb tank and fan can fit without the tank sticking out the bottom.

The C+ is my third and is a good one. but, the best C+ that I had and have ever played was one without EQ and/or Simulclass. I regret letting that one get away.

I'll have to dig up a pic, but my DC-5 is just a great amp. First good amp I ever owned. Bought it in 1995 when I was really into heavy prog rock. I loved the cleans and the high gain channel is better than a Dual Rec IMO. As I grew out of the heavy stuff, and became more of a gear snob, I kind of wrote that amp off and it just lived silently in a corner while my other amps got the work...recently I pulled it out to goof around with it and realized I wasn't giving it enough credit. It has a great clean channel. Very powerful, warm, fender vibe...pull boost gives it some nice grind, and the high gain channel still kills it....I think mine might be magic...haha

No pics cause the amp wasn't mine, but I played a Lonestar at a session thursday and friday..the quickest, easiest great tone I've ever gotten out of an amp! I played with it for about 5 minutes before the engineer arrived we didn't touch the settings from that point on. Nice edgy/verge of breaking up clean tone with a tele...Now I want a lonestar:AOK

My whole heard. The Lonestar is probably my favorite and most versatile amp I have owned. Nice cleans with a drive channel that gets just hte right amount of breakup. No pedals needed.

    kmanic,

Uhhh, that clip was, ohhh, ok I guess. ...NOT! :)

I'll state the obvious: great playing with some very tasty licks ...kudos!! But that's also a very nice recording (not a backing track is it?). All very balanced, especially the kick/snare/cymbals. And *your* tone is awesome; period. Thanks for sharing!!!

...sorry, no pics to share in the love fest, but I've got a MKIII Simul Head (green), a DC5 combo, a Thiele cab and an open-back cab, both EVM12L loaded and Blonde :)
