I was hoping to get some peoples opinions on the most versatile delay pedals available. Also has anyone tried the combination of a digital "tape" delay with a ep-2/ep-3 pre pedal in front?

Timeline, Timefactor, DD-20, Nova Delay, Nova Repeater, Delaylab, etc. There are a lot of delays out there

    Define your "Most Versatile".

To me, it's the TimeFactor. I haven't tried most of the multi-delay pedals yet though, only Timeline, DL4 and TimeFactor.

Do you(jordane93) personally prefer any of the above mentioned?

I'm surprised how many boards I've seen with a Line 6 DL4. I know it's not the most expensive or booteak but it seems to be working well for a lot of people who are not afraid to spend money on high end gear.

But for me I'd have to go with seven, 24 track, 2" tape machines linked together with solenoid switching driven by a Neve board to get true delay tone that no TGP'r could argue. But in reality it'd be a whole lot easier to get a TC flashback.

Timefactor is a great delay. I've had two in the past, sold them cause I thought I didn't need them (first time I didn't get familiar enough with it). Just got one back a few weeks ago and with the recent firmware updates, its great.

Not mine, it's a friend's, but he has great gear, and a line 6 delay. That's a stereo rig he put together from his collection of gear for an R&B set he did recently.

Yeah, nice amp situation. For a second I thought that was a Concert Amp, which is what I have.

Does the Tweed 57 pedal work well with the brownface?

    Total derail.

Only the Nova Repeater. It works for me. I don't need any presets and I'm fine with just tapping in the tempo for the next song.

Most versatile is the Timeline IMO. Haven't spent a ton of time with the Eventide Timefactor but did not enjoy the interface, seems on par or close to in terms of versatility.

I like a combo of the most versatile (Eventide Timefactor) & the most user friendly (Vox Time Machine)

Love my Vox a Delaylab I got for $99 at GC closeout. End of my chain is now Delaylab>RV-7>Jamman Delay, delay/ 28sec looper/reverb/delay/ full featured looper with memory, all in stereo.

Strymon timeline, no question about it. I've heard goo things about the time factor, but I think the timeline is even more versatile.

I mean, it would have to be the Timeline or Timefactor, wouldn't it?
