Ouch. Well, I guess now's the time to market to couch players.

However, I did just buy a Bigsby Chet Aktins arm kit from them after another shop bailed on the order (apparently they didn't get the shipment they were expecting), and MusicZoo was very quick to deliver, so I got no complaints for them.

I always thought it would be cool if Fender sold a "mod strat". Comes without electronics since nobody would be caught dead playing stock pickups.

It’s the “quiet acoustic that looks like an electric.” Perfect for the very shy guitar player!

Part of me wouldn't mind a partscaster strat with a really good piezo system (and a blank pickguard like this) for acoustic sounds. It would have to be MiM priced or cheaper to justify though.

It's a used guitar the store is turning over. Took in on a trade.

OK, after reading the description it makes A LITTLE more sense.

It seems like they had a Fender CS '62 neck and a Robert Cray Signature Strat body that they just screwed together without any electronics. Now, I don't know the going rate for a Custom Shop neck but it can't be more than $600-700 and I feel like that's the high end. I know that an Inca Silver Strat body is nowhere near the $800-900 difference that it would take to make up the $1,500 asking price. Maybe I'm being too analytical about this and it's just a joke -or- the Zoo is really trying to get over on an unsuspecting customer. By the time you buy pickups, pots and possibly a pre-cut pickguard, you're out another $300-400. So a $1,900 outlay for a partcaster?
