So here is a question. What are the three small holes for underneath a mexican strat pickgaurd? you know the ones...just below the pup routes and just in front of the control cavity.

    I say alien crop circles!

    What say you!

I think they hold the body when it is being routed or painted in the assembly line.

Ok I may be wrong on this but I think the reason for the other rouge holes in the neck pockets serve that purpose.

Maybe we are both right? Maybe they all are for the same purpose.

They are location points for the CNC machines which cut and shape the body.

I,ve been wondering about those halls too and that paintjob thing could be the answer(i've thought of it as well),but in that case those little cavities themselves would not be painted(if something gets in there to hold the body during finishing process,it woyld definitely keep paint out of them..) right?

I think the reason is as simple as differentiating MIM parts so that they can't be passed off as MIA on the second hand market.

Different machines...? It's not unusual for different factories to have different makes/models of machinery, so what applies in one factory may not apply in another...

I think so we can all have something to talk about! No purpose that I can see, some say for weight relief but .05 oz relief is not much.

registration marks for cnc, and identification purposes.

look at every anderson neck, in between one of the tuners (forget which one) there is a plug. there is a pin on the jig that holds the neck when machining.
