A colleague introduced me to this band. Any fans?

I love this album from '99 - hooks and harmonies.

I hadn't heard this band since the late 90's. I remember them being pretty solid.

I think I have this album somewhere. I should dig it out again. It's been at least 20 years since I listened to it.

Sorry man-----impulse response. The name of the band kind of caught me off guard.

    I did listen. Cool song.

Yeah----things have changed lots in the last 20 years.

Remember NWA? Not sure that would fly today--------and with good reason.

I can't really envision a situation in 2018 in which that band name would be cool/acceptable.....

I never heard of them, but based on that song/video, definitely not my cup of tea.

Based on that video, I would rather listen to Tarzan, Tonto and Frankenstein sing Christmas carols.

MY world hasn't changed. In my world all of those names are absolutely forbidden. Have been and will be.

I say, delete the thread, it's inappropriate for TGP.

Yeah--I used the word in the thread title in an innocuous way one time (no worse than how it's used here) and got my post deleted and a warning for it. Be interesting to see if the mods are consistent.

Before this band sells its music, it is selling the message in its name. I truly believe that.

I only know of this band through its name I heard just within the hour or so.. I haven't heard any of their music.

While not my cup of tea musically, the band name led to some informative reading not only about Stew but also about the 1903 collection of essays from which the name originated.

MAYBE, in 1999 there would have been more tolerance and willingness to get to understand what's behind the name.

But not today, we live in a flash fire society more than ever.

Glad it "led" you to deeper understanding, perhaps that should have been mentioned in the title,,, the title that gets at best one seconds worth of attention while glancing through threads. The title got my attention. It worked. With no attempt to explain the message you were led to.

It's very provocative at face value.
