lol ... good, that's what he gets for not fighting hard enough. He fought one too many bums, it seems. :D Not much of a "beard" on Joshua, either. He couldn't fight through being hurt - he lost his heart.

Just watched it. Absolutely blown away! The biggest upset since Buster Douglas!

AJ is from my town back home, and our community loves him. They’re going to be in utter shock today!

Fight-wise, after that 2nd knock down in the 3rd, AJ could not recover. Just an unbelievable fight!

    Congrats to Ruiz Jr!

If ButterBean was in his prime, I think he could take him.

Edit: after watching that video that Sid posted I've reconsidered.

Given the prestige of the WBC belt, I think Deontay is still the heavyweight champ. He’s slated to fight Ortiz this fall, and Fury in early 2020. He was going to fight Joshua in 2020, so if he keeps on top, maybe Ruiz instead?

Regardless, that TKO in the seventh was an upset for the ages! Ruiz proved that body building and boxing are separate sports. And even if you disagree with the call, that fight was never going to go to decision. Ruiz hits fast and hard, and Joshua was fading.

I bet Miller is thinking WTF? right about now...

And I wonder if Joshua was underprepared for Ruiz, despite his trainer saying they thought Ruiz was a stronger contender.

Of course, Vegas odds painted a much different picture...

Wow! I was actually telling my friend that Joshua shouldn't underestimate Ruiz. I saw Ruiz annihilate a really good boxer Dimetrenko a few months ago, and that's when I took notice of him. Not only does he have heavy hands, but he has solid fundamentals and impressive technique. Much better technique than Chris Arreola (who Ruiz reminded me of). This is the upset of the decade so far.

Yeah I agree - in. fact, both AJ and Wilder have questionable chins (did you see Ortiz rock Wilder?). That's why Joshua vs Wilder would have been a "big drama show", to use GGG hilarious phrase.

An interesting fight for sure and Ruiz definitely brought it. I think the ref was pretty quick to end the fight. Joshua was clearly losing and went down a bunch, but he didn't look loopy (at all) when they called an end to the fight. It was weird.

You think all Mexicans live in Mexico? I believe he lives in Imperial, California.

Great fight, loved it. You don't get to milk it like that after being knocked down 4 times. He was looking for a 15 second count or something. His night would have only gotten worse, good call by the ref.
