I saw them in concert recently, and it was so loud, I couldn't stand it. I know that makes me sound like an old man, but this style of music kind of lends itself to groovy interplay, not thundering bombast. It wasn't their fault I guess. The sound engineers just must have thought it sounded cool that way.

That's really surprising. I just found out about them yesterday, but from what I've heard and clips I've watched and listened to, I wouldn't have thought that they would be a loud band......

Super band and musicians. I've been a fan since early early 2000s or what seems to be most of their album releases.

Great band. We cover some of their songs.
Eddie Roberts turned me on to ES330s, I ended up buying a 65 just like his.

Been a huge fan for years. Seen them live many times. Last one was a cool Boston harbor cruise. A very favorite band of mine for a while.

I have liked his playing no matter what guitar is in hand. IMO a really talented player who's superb with rhythm and with a melody too. I consider him a great that more players should know about.

Totally agree. But the ES-330 is really a part of his sound I think, its percussiveness really fits his style.
You should check out his new side project, Matador Sound System, with the drummer from Soulive.
And also the West Coast Sounds and Roughneck, two other jazzier projects.

    Great stuff.
I host a weekend of jamming with musicians at this cabin we have. We go for early spring and late fall get togethers so we can have our fun with less people to bother around.
One of the DJ's who showed up had this going.
All hung over, back home on monday morning, I'm texting him - what was that masturbation band that was funky again?

Curious which tune your band covers? Very cool. My band does one too! We do Wait A Minute Pt 2. I'd like to add another NMS at some point too.

Have you checked out Eddie's Roughneck project? Definitely check out the Live In Paris album if not. Fantastic stuff.

Played Nervous at a gig 15 years ago. Breakdown nearly killed the horn section.

Eddie was here in Denver playing with some of the guys from The Motet and others for Mardi Gras. Such a blast!
