So I emailed Sweetwater...they just received my pedal after a SEVEN month delay. Should be at my house and in my hot little hands the week!

wow pretty similar from that demo- the new one is a little brighter perhaps(and maybe even a little clearer). i'd give the original a slight edge but the gap is much much closer than i expected.

Just got the email to buy a few days ago, but have since moved on.

I got a Vox DelayLab in trade, and though it has some flaws--and is ENORMOUS-- it has some excellent tones.

I may try the Wazacraft later. But in another thread, someone else said the Waza sounded DARKER than the Carbon Copy?! I can't imagine that's even possible.

Yeah, mine is also finally on the way. I also don't care anymore, but I'll give it a listen and probably flip it. I see they are already out of stock. Makes no sense how a company as robust as Boss can't seem to get this pedal in the hands of consumers. There must be more to the story.

The original sounds considerably better to me here. Thanks for posting.

Oh man, the color's off. They mixed way too much reddish magenta into the new mix.

see it makes sense to have that mentality. you decided that its not good enough and you're gonna sell it.

    before you've owned it.

    1. Watch YouTube video of Hot/Hyped pedal
    2. Buy newest Hot/Hyped pedal
    3. Watch more $hitty, compressed, inaccurate video of H/H
    4. Decide that newest H/H pedal won't make you sound good
    5. Put H/H pedal in the Emporium before receiving it
    6. Sell for slight profit to another that has watched H/H video
    7. Repeat

Except if I start seeing DM-2w's in the Emporium for more than new price I'm gonna start punching kittens. Some people need to remove head from ass before listing (like the Prince of Tone in there for $200 :facepalm ).

I received my DM-2W on Wednesday (yesterday).
I'm hearing faint distortion in the decaying, ending trailing notes, right as it cuts off...certainly NOT what I've heard in any comparison or introduction video (Shnobel's a good one btw).
Back in Sept. 2014, I spoke with a Boss rep in Tokyo, who sheepishly admitted that due to quality control issues with Taiwanese mfg, the Japanese QC would not allow for worldwide distribution.
Compared to my Maxon AD900 and an original DM-2, this Waza DM-2W is not up to par, due to the "artifacts" left after the note decay.
YMMV - this one's going back to the store.

I also heard this "faint distortion in...trailing notes." Took mine back to the store as well.

I thought the distorted repeats is what made the MN3005 units I have sound so organic. If that's the case... They nailed the sound.

    I'll compare them tonight.

Man the Waza sounds crappy. Trails are distorted in an unpleasant way. Sounds starved and nasty clipping like. Not warm at all. Listened to it closely on a good sound system too. Yech.

Yeah... Maybe it doesn't sound as nice as voltage starved 3005.
