Certainly not the next Fred Astaire.
Or Gary Moore?
A little pitchy, dog.
He’s definitely talented... been following him for a few months...
do you think he is that good because of the awesome gear that he has?
Pete Thorn put out a thread about this kid a few months ago
Think how much better he'll be when he's 9 and a half!
I saw a FB thread about him, a while back. Around 80% of the comments hailed him as “the next ____.”
That’s putting tremendous pressure and expectation on a 9 year old. Child prodigies rarely thrive in adulthood, and that kind of thing has a lot to do with it, IMO.
Why should he be the “next” anybody?
He’s a great little guy with a ton of attitude in his playing, Even since I met him just a little while ago he already sounds like he’s improved even more. If he continues on the path he’s on he’ll be pretty ferocious by the time he’s 16 or something I would think. I don’t know if he’s headed in the Derek Trucks direction, maybe more the next Bonamassa or Slash or Angus!
The one thing that really struck me is that he just has really good time, he’s super dialed into the groove for such a young player.
To entertain us!
Has anyone ever been hailed as the next somebody, then gone on to become them?
No, but ironically there always be the next, “the next...”.
Remember Nathan cavaleri?
Taj and Taz can haz band.
I do not.
I do remember when Derek Trucks was “the next Duane Allman,” though.
Thankfully, he decided to be the first Derek Trucks, instead.
I dug it. I hope mom and dad continue to encourage him as he seems to really enjoy it.
He really nails the pained expressions of a lot of other “the next__________”s
What’s wrong with the Derek Trucks we have?
Why do we need a next one?
The kid can def play and I'm not hating... But it doesn't seem like any of "the next" young players ever live up to the expectations set for them. Good for him though! It's gotta be a blast getting recognition this young!
