There are a lot of guitars that I've grown to like over the years but I've never had a thing for Gibson SGs - they look ugly to me.

Edit: Added Information- Informal Results below based on 12 pages and quick scan through posts

#1 Most Disliked - Gibson SG
#2 Most Disliked - Fender Offsets
#3 Most Disliked - Pointy Shredder Guitars
#4 Most Disliked - PRS! (surprised to see on this forum)
    #5 Most Disliked - Flying V & Tele!

Although per user DS007, "I think your list is pretty spot on, but right now the #1 spot definitely belongs to PRS with at least 35 specific mentions"

Fender offsets. Every demo I’ve heard of a Jazzmaster or Jag sounds like a thinner (worse) version of a Strat.

PRS guitars - objectively, they are beautiful and the craftsmanship, especially on the higher end models, is impressive. For some reason though, they've never done anything for me.

    Any Gibson solidbody.

Plenty of people like'em and sound good playing them but they are not for me.

Most of the guitars Yamaha 350 has started threads about. As well as SGs, Firebirds, Ibanez S series, James Tyler guitars, and the Teuffel Birdfish.

Anything your standard thrash/metal player has his name on. (So anything designed after 1965 I guess?!).

Pointy shredder guitars especially if they have pointed reverse headstocks and Floyds.

Telecasters. Yeah, I said it. I like some Fenders, but Teles have never appealed to me.

Gibsons that aren’t Les Pauls, PRS without vibrato bridges, anything that looks like was designed by a guy who’d seen a guitar once, but was sketchy on the details.

F-hole acoustics. They're pretty much used for 1 style, which I'm not much into. I've played a few nice ones, and that tone does nothing for me.

#1) Strats. There are just so many of them around they seem like the cheap guitar of the bunch to me.
#2) SG's. They remind me of Batman.
#3) Pointy, jagged guitars. If I want to stab myself, there are cheaper, easier ways to do it.
    #4) Fender acoustics

Quite a number. Almost anything by B C Rich or Dean, Fender offsets, Ovations of any type, Ned Callan, late 70s/early 80s Ibanez that looked like a coffee table.

Loads more that I can't bring to mind.

Many -- mostly those models that are too heavily associated with some famous acts. Like:

    • SG -- AC/DC
    • Fender offsets -- Nirvana, Elvis Costello
    • that Lennon Ric model
    • that guy's LP with the target painted on
    • anything Eddie

But... never say never! Maybe some day I will play an offset SG with VH stripes that I will love, and will end up buying it.
