This was the first SE prototype he shared pictures of, and I think by the time he played the Terrapin Station show two years ago he had it routed for the neck and bridge humbuckers. Same finish as the one in the video. A natural progression as he played the NF3 at Clapton's 70th birthday concert.

No doubt. Dude has a sense of melody and phrasing like no other guitarist before or since. I like how he quotes that last descending line the keyboardist played and then just takes off and builds the whole thing to a peak. Genius.

Apparently JM is streaming a rehearsal on his Instagram as we speak.

This is a real for sale item. Search TGP back in 2012 - there is a hilarious thread
    about the cables.

I don't know if that's what JM is using but I know "a guy" that has one and it definitely makes a difference where he rehearses... You can plug the regular power cable and his amp has all kinds of noise and when you plug the MM cable in it's quiet and seems to be fuller. Some folks swears by them:dunno

That setting would have been perfect for a full trio set...just crank it and rip...but no. Too much "Search for boring pop tunes" in the set list.

music starts like 10 minutes in.

he continues to the only person that can make that amp sound good. of course he's using a Katana and sixteen thousand dollars worth of rack reverb even when it's "clean" and running it in stereo with a good amp.

also I mean careful with ur opinions as facts John's a passable blues player but he's much better playing real music anyway.

Mayer sounds best to me playing with Dead & Company. My opinion.

TIL if JM and Alessia Cara did a Jesca Hoop/Sam Beam style duo album it would be the most amazing thing ever
