I have a silver Klon that Bill Finnegan built for me around 2004. Have always loved the pedal, but it's huge and I'm no longer keen on gigging in dive bars with a $1500 pedal. So a few months ago I asked our very own @pickdropper to build a Minitaur for me. Having done extensive side-by-side comparison over the last couple of months, all I can say is that it sounds and functions exactly like the other pedal. Exactly the same. And I'm really friggin picky about this stuff. It's also about 1/4 the size of the Klon and I now have room for another couple of pedals on my board. Couldn't be happier.

Can't say I've tried this one, but from pictures of his previous work in other pedals I know his board work is impeccable.

I ran out of pixie dust, so I sprinkled glitter in it. I figured it was close enough.

Sadly, I sent it off before taking a gut shot. Shame on me.

I guess Moog isn’t suing over the name?

I doubt I sell enough to be on their radar (plus it’s not etched on the pedal).

I actually didn’t realize that was out there. I’ve been doing these for a while. I wonder which came first (not that it matters since I don’t have a trademark on it).

If I ever go into mass production, I’d probably have to consider a different name.

This is not helping my GAS (and regret for selling off a few during the home buying/new baby seasons).

I could make one with the Reverse Engineered Centaur graphic, but it might traumatize the baby.

I had a Minitaur at one point. I agree that it sounded killer- and exactly the same as a Centura I was borrowing at the time.

The closest thing I have to a real Klon is the T-shirt I'm wearing *right now*. My Mythical Overdrive is pretty sick though.

I like the Klon circuit so much, I may buy a real one someday.

That’s actually beautiful - as is the mini Buzzaround you build.
