    Howdy folks,

    Here's a rough sketch of a tune I've been working up for a little r&b/funk/soul band I'm looking to get together.

    "The Streetbeater" aka. the Sanford and Son theme is one of my all time favorite t.v. theme songs and was one of my first exposures to funky r&b. The performance is a bit ragged at times, but I was having too much fun not to share it.

    Gear:

    GVCG '53 Blackguard
    -Fred Stuart blackguard pickups

    ->COT50 red (min setting)
    ->Valveboy
    ->t.c dual parametric eq
    ->Maxon AD-900 delay

    -'66 Princeton Reverb

    (all of the pedals are on through out the whole clip, only the guitar's volume is adjusted.)

    Anyone that is interested in the making of the original "Streetbeater" should head over to the Sound Hound Lounge and check out the "Quincy Jones... Streetbeater" thread.

    Cheers, -John.

    Very cool. That put a smile on my face. I could picture them hauling the junk to the truck ;0

    Way to go for it.

    Thanks. That's a funky tune. You played it with soul.

    Shane Theriot did a cover of it on his first CD, "Highway 90".

    Thanks for the comments!

    Shane is a monster player. I've seen him with the Nevilles. I hadn't heard his version before. I appreciate the heads-up. Now I gotta go pickup that cd...:)

    You ought to see this guy play in front of you!

    John, once again killer work and GREAT feel!

    Wish I could play with that kind of balls. Just not in the cards for me. You really pull out the best attributes in your guitars.

    Nice work.
