Top to bottom is a Skip modded Newcomb E-10 Pathfinder, Newcomb H-25 (being modded by Skip right now) and a Rauland 1940's doohicky (belongs to Skip now =D). Underneath is a Traynor YBA-1 undercover.

    I love these things.

Yep Skip Simmons is one of the best! I like his philosophy on amp repair too. Although it peeves some people around here.

    Kind Regards,
    Steve

    That is coolness x three.

I'm getting to know my first PA amp right now. A 4 x 6v6 RCA from the 40s. All 6J7 preamp. Don't know how yours strike you, but this RCA sounds not quite like anything else in my experience. Some very fine tones. And that's exactly what I was hoping to find in PA stuff.

corn husk bag- thanks bro, but what peeves people off about Skip?

Mad dog- thanks brother. A 4x 6v6 amp is a dream lineup. I've been using the pair of RCA smoked glass in my Pathfinder 10 for several years now, soon that H-25 will be up and running with it's 6L6s, and I already told Skip I want a pair of 6L6Gs for the real old time tone and early breakup.

Here's the Newcomb in action from a gig last week. I was very satisfied with the tone even though my camera has crappy sound.

Hey, I just got that H-25 amp from Sparky. Incredibly sweet tone. Sounds so good it's hard to stop playing.

    Yea,
Glad you like the Esprit. I used the Newcomb H-25 last Friday night at a jam session and just blew everyone away with it's tone. They were looking for pedals and effects, but it was just me and my Ibanez S-Classic! I was running it through an Avatar 2 x12 cab with 2 16 ohm Celestions. Nice trade :bow

Wow nice goin! Skip beams with pride when he talks about that one. I know he has to do a lot of work on those, whereas others he has less work to get them ready to rock. For the Newcombs that one is probably the flagship.
