Anyone have any experience with this thing?

    Ultimate Tube Amp

At $1500, I wonder if it's a good value. Seems pretty versatile and a good choice for the modeling fans.

Lifetime warranty on the tubes? That´s a first!

But all in all it looks like a cool unit, with alot of potential uses.

Yeah, must be inexpensive tubes, huh?.....or they'll just last forever.

I'd really like to demo this thing myself, just for the hell of it. I can't believe it would replace any of my amps, but it looks pretty cool.

I'd think the AXE-FX boys might be pretty interested in this unit too!

Hard to believe that somebody here hasn't had some experience with this unit, considering our numbers!

"...imagine carrying just one small head (about a quarter the size of a small box Marshall) to your morning writing session and getting soulful singing tones at conversation levels surpassing the best cranked tones of any tube amp."

Now that is a bold statement. If it were true I guess it really would be the ultimate tube amp. I'm curious, yet put off at the same time.

I agree,, proof is in the pudding...

there's been lot's of claims... but few pan out... but YES this is a good company.

"If it seems too good to be true.. it normally is.. "

But we'll see over time... My small head 18 watt Reinhardt is just amazing... I'd love to see someone beat that.

    :)

Pretty cool concepts at play. Looks like it could use some more engineering. For example, the cables on the top left cover the volume knob. Also, it seems that a single, 4-button footswitch would be more elegant than two 2-button switches, and perhaps it would be better to have a mini-head with feet and a handle than just the metal box.

The way it can hook up to another amp and cabinet is clever.

Soundwise, I liked the cleans and it crunched pretty well but I didn't hear the ability for liquid-sustain for the leads, which is what I like.

I think it would be interesting to hear the Axe-Fx or another modeller plugged in for that tube amp power feel, ala the Spider Valve.

It's nice to see innovations like this.

Thanks for that link....my search didn't turn that one up.

The video is pretty informative, but as soon as I heard the tone of Mark's speaking voice I knew I wasn't going to like the amp tone....I guess I should say that I knew it wasn't going to be a very accurate recording. I really like the concept, though!

I'm going to assume as well, that the UA section still presents a 32 ohm load to the external amp and that's something that's been a problem for me with regards to it's use. I had a UA for awhile and it sounded very good, but just made me nervous, so I sold it.
