    geek stuff:
a non mastered file, i mixed this into a Limiter across the master bus, and output at 16 bit 44.1khz.
    it's about -12rms.

    mix issues working on:
    kick-bass-snare lock
    low end tightness versus fullness
how much more high end does this need.

Lots of fun - vocals don't pop as much as your other stuff right now particularly the front end of the song -- lots of bottom and mid bottom/mids -- a little bit of blur/mud from the guitars all competing for EQ - but still sounding pretty good. (and by pretty good I mean pretty damned good).

I agree with most of what Dasein has said.
I listened with headphones on an iPad FYI.
Per your mix list, the snare pops just fine. The kick is somewhat buried.
Low end is tight but lacking in fullness.
For me, guitars sound great as usual, no conflicts for space.
I am not qualified to answer “how much high end does it need”.
My high frequencies are pretty much shot:(
Content wise, you write good stuff. Always high energy and very well done. :beer

    hey dasein!!
thanks for listening to this one......

vocals have been brought up, brightened a bit,
actually changing the compressor i was using to a different one made a big diff.

i hear lots of bottom in the mix too,
and others who have listened on lesser systems, say they can't hear the kick at all!!

LOL, one step forward, two steps back.

but i have fixed the 'blur' of the rhythm guitars ( i had miced tracks doubled with direct tracks, and panned for clarity, but when i mute the miced tracks, the whole thing kinda fell into place), so those tracks are gone.....

i'll post an updated mix soon.

    jparry,
thanks so much for listening and commenting....
i've tweaked the kick quite a bit since this post,
i think iv'e added enough low mid energy to get the kick to come across on small systems,
cuz it's absolutely slammin' in my space!
like, stuff rattling off the shelves.....

i suppose if nothing sounds dull,
    or shrill,
then the high end is, for you, pretty dialed in......
    thanks for the review
