    A student & friend of mine from Rome showed me this, this was one of her guitar teachers 'back home' who just passed away yesterday.

    I had never heard of him until just now.

    And they say "East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet."

    Masterful playing. I liked the slightly out of tune chords he used.

    That said, I was sorely disappointed after reading this thread's title to realize that
    it did not contain Monk himself playing the oud. Now that would truly would be mind-blowing!
