These look awesome. Not really a bass player but would love to try one out.

I have a bass, and it's a short scale... but no way I'm paying $1700.00. My whole bass rig was about that. If I had a bigger pile of money I would.

It's their standard MFD pickup, which is a tonal beast. The Fallout looks to have the same type of electronics as the Kiloton (which I have), so it'll cover a ton of ground. I like that from the demo it sounds like, aside from just the shorter scale length, it does not sound like a typical short scale bass.

Looks like a cool new (expensive!) bass. But I'm guessing that guy could make my POS Chinese SX bass sound fantastic too

Should I ever develop chops like that, which is highly unlikely, I'd be willing to spend the dosh on an instrument. Until then, however, I'll stick with Squiers and entry level Fenders. At this point I'm just so incredibly not worthy. :(

I'm a little surprised that you only get a gig-bag with it. The G&G cases that usually come with U.S. G&L's are very nice!
It would be a shame not to get that.

My issue with G&L is two-fold, they're too heavy, and when they're light they have neck-dive, due to the 4-inline head-stock.

However, I feel like the MFD pickup is the best damn pickup in the entire industry!

Agree with all that and I also think the "go faster stripe" looks cheap and unclassy. Especially at that price point.
    Just no.

I have never understood this self-defeating attitude. If you don't wanna pay the $1700 for a bass like this, I get it. But to say you're not worthy of an instrument because of your skill level? That's weak.

I'm guessing it doesn't fit in the current sized G&L case. I would assume they're waiting to see how well this does before having a case that fits the Fallout built/ordered.

When I buy these days it's for WOW factor. If I pick it up & think Wow!, then I will consider buying it. No Wow, no buy!
Buy something that inspires you to play more often, & not because it's pretty & pricey!

TalkBass is convinced there will be a Tribute version. Since I don't have $1700, I guess I'll wait and see anyway.

My guess is that it's wholly dependent upon how quickly this current one sells, or demand from dealers, not just people on TB that would like to see a Tribute version (but wouldn't buy it anyway).
