There's a scientific hypothesis stating we're probably living in a simulation. If that's true...

The computational model has definitely changed how problems are approached, while also completely missing the point by disregarding "humanness".

That's one plot line in Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle. Hilarity ensues.

Or, I wonder if, when I die, I just wake up in the bridge of my starship and only 1 hour has passed.

That's the most likely scenario. Obviously.

If it is a simulation, the programmers are the dredge that got hired in the Dot Com era to "program HTML" and really should've been flipping burgers.

    Those were good days.

I remember all the black hole what not. I wondered how the collider was going to generate mass from nowhere, enough mass to self implode. I mean, it would have to generate the same mass as the Earth to have a black hole as strong as the gravitation pull of, the Earth, which admittedly would be a pain in the ass, probably through off a few train schedules and so forth, but not a show stopper. Anyhow....

Daily life in Cincy might be the best argument we live in a simulation ever posited.

We imagine we're living in the Matrix but it's actually more like Pets.com

Harvey Pekar might agree. About daily life in Cincy, I mean.

It's probably only "hyper realistic" to us. To the being/beings running the sim it might be a complete failure and having gotten tired of watching it do stupid **** they'll finally decide to pull the plug...thus initiating the "big collapse."

I bet George Shaheen would agree with that sentiment.
