Name them....the one you use, the best one you've heard, etc.

Looking for something like this, and there haven't been any threads on this for a year from what I've searched.

Before you say the Zvex Fuzz Factory, I know this is a big answer from what I've searched. I've had this one before and sold it, so let's leave it out of the discussion for the sake of this thread.

I'm also looking for something in a smaller enclosure (Boss size or smaller), but don't let that keep you from naming something.

Fuzzhugger Velcroar and EQD Dirt Transmitter can both get this sound, but in different ways. Also the Devi Ever Soda Meiser can get splatty/sputtery with the gain cranked.

well, I know you said no Fuzz Factory... but Zvex Mastotron does splatty. I have one and I like it. Goes nicely with overdrive too.

Analogman Peppermint fuzz is the best I've heard for that sound.

Penny pedals fingerprint or anything based on this circuit... It's no longer made but there is a kit based on it... Snowflake I believe... I've had fuzz factories and many others but this is one amazing pedal for lots of fuzz uses including velcro settings

earthqaker devices dirt transmitter...the bias knob is amazingly versatile in dialing in your desired level of splattiness/velcroness. grossly underrated imo.

+1. Solidgold FX Agent 13 arguably does it better (just more present), but the Fix'd makes all kinds of great fuzz whereas the A13 is a (great) one-trick pony. -E
