Besides Toto, and any self-named solo projects or bands he was "officially" a member of, what has SL played on?

I knew the solos from "Dirty Laundry" (Don Henley)
The main riff from "Beat It" (not the EVH part obviously).

And somone here said he did the solos, or at least the ending solo to "Talk To You Later" (The Tubes).

You know, I was always amazed at how awesome the playing was in that Tubes song, and just always assumed it was the guy in the band.

I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not!

Now you're going to tell me the burning at the end of "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring was Luke too.

Ok, so what else like that - things you have heard a zillion times on popular tunes, but don't typically know are him - have we heard him on?

    Steve

    So let's sum up.

Everything from 1977 to 2006. By almost every artist.

He played on Breakdown Dead Ahead by Boz Scaggs, cool tune from around '80-'81.

Los Lobotomies was his most high profile side band. Check 'em out, some great tunes!

That's a bit of an exageration - only everything from '79 to '91, and if it wasn't him it sounded like him.

Luke was to '84 LA was what Page was to '64 London.

Or, Luke was to '84 LA what Carlton was to '74 LA.

Luke is all over this tune, but I believe his solo at 4:30 turned some heads when it came out.

One of the things Luke does extremely well is funk comping ...
Hip chords, skank lines & truly in the pocket playing .. not usually mentioned about his playing...

Maybe I can dig up so youtubes where he does so ...

A good example may be the intro of "Running".

It isn't fancy, but I always liked his guitar part to Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgetting".

Search for "Toto Live 1979" on Youtube if you want to hear some tasty playing! Also, the Thriller album.

The cd "A Guitar Supreme - Giants Steps in Fusion Guitar"

It is a great, great guitar album tribute to Coltrane.

Lukather plays on the track "Crescent", my second favorite track on the cd behind EJs playing on the track "Resolution".
