I have a bunch of silverfaces -here are a few!

These tend to be in my price range, and they sound wonderful!! However, I came across a 64 Fender Deluxe in nice enough shape and at a reasonable price. What do you guys think of these amps? I know they are in the less collectible category for blackfaces, much like the old Pro Reverbs, Concerts and Bassmans-

Is this a worthy amp? Does it sound like the Deluxe Reverb? Anything I should look out for?

This will be my first blackface amp-

The non reverb Deluxe is not in the "less collectable category" as the Pro, Concert , Bassman, etc. because it's a "grab & go" amp. It's more desirable than any of the non reverb Fender amps, except the Vibrolux, due to its 22 watts of power, single 12" speaker and cabinet size.

That said, these sound very close to the normal channel on a Deluxe Reverb and are great pedal platforms. They have enough clean headroom to gig with in any small to medium room, in a band context.

^^^ what he said. If it's a good price grab it, it will perfect addition to your stable if you want something with a little less breakup at moderate volumes. Very worthy amps.

Plug into the normal channel on your DR, that is what the plain Deluxe will sound like. A bit thicker sounding. Pretty cool amps.

If it's all original; transformers, cabinet, tolex, baffle, grill and speaker, then it's worth every penny...........and more.
