Thinking about micing up a Fender Champ with an ext cab onstage. (maybe backstage)

Anyone out there do something like this? Wonderful? Terrible? If so, what size cab?

    Thanks for any input.

Champs sound awesome through 2x12's... you can always mic the cab with a 57

I've done several gigs and practices with a 66 Champ or a 75 Bronco (a Vibro Champ really) through a 2x10. The biggest complaint I had was when the drummer really was going for it, he blows away the amp sound. Onstage it was always miced so I could still hear through the monitors.

I have seen Derek Trucks do that exact thing.

This will be either mic'd offstage or next to a drummer in a plexiglass cage.
