This is for all the Blues Jr haters on TGP

I don't understand all of the brazen negativity towards the Fender Blues Jr here on TGP. I have a NOS Tweed model that I thoroughly enjoy.

I recorded this guitar instrumental with my Blues Jr to show its range and versatility. I commonly hear comments about the amp's "boxy" sound, and the perception of inferiority to other models. In my experience, I haven't heard it. Granted, I have only used the amp for studio recording, as opposed to in a live band setting.

Hopefully you enjoy "Black Icicles of Finger Funk," an ode to that sludge that accumulates under my guitar strings when I play.

My dad tours the world as a guitarist for one of the top blues singers right now and him and the other guitarist LOVE the blues juniors. They've recently started putting Eminence Canabis Rex speakers in them but they love the sh&t out of those amps.

I have a mate with one that I've played a couple of times. Like you stated I've only played it in his studio and never in a band setting but there's nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

Never heard one with that much distortion. Sounds good though.

I like mine really clean. Put a Cannabis Rex in it and it stays cleaner longer.

I plan to take mine to an audition on Thursday night. I will get a chance to see how well it performs in a live setting for the first time.
