I'm the original owner of this little golden rock machine. I had it built to my spec early last year. It has been a bit of a case queen for me, and is in virtually new condition. Below is Ron Thorn's Intro to the Artisan Limited Series. All 12 of the guitars in this run sold out almost immediately, and for good reason!

Artisan Limited ~ Series 1 (My guitar is #7 of 12)

After a long hiatus, the Thorn Artisan line is finally reborn! No longer full-blown 1-offs with huge lead times, but instead an Artisan with a fixed set of specifications and limited options allowing for reasonable delivery times, built in a series with a defined quantity not to be reproduced or repeated, each series being unique from the others.

Series 1 will consist of only 12 guitars. They feature the original Artisan Standard flat-top body shape and straight string-pull headstock shape. An East Indian Rosewood neck and fretboard set into a Swamp Ash body, a wood combination never tried on an original Artisan.

The snap of the ash body blends with the low-midrange growl of the rosewood neck, resulting in an amazing throaty punchiness that responds to the GT-90 staple top pickups perfectly. A unique tone that is ideal for blues and rock, with enough girth to handle rhythm and cuts right thru for leads.

Also never seen before on an Artisan is optional binding on both the body and/or the fretboard. The MojoAxe compensated wrap-around is a simple-machine providing rock solid coupling for total string transfer to the body and providing spot-on intonation.
