My ThorpyFX Gunshot and Muffroom Cloud came today, and.. my god. They're on another level. I don't want to go to sleep because I'm so blown away by how huge my guitar sounds.

If you haven't checked ThorpyFX out by now, do it before he has a KoT-size waiting list for his stuff. Amazing, amazing stuff

Anyone compare the Muffroom Cloud to a Skreddy Mayo? Curious how they compare since they're both goosed up triangle muffs.

How funny... I was just thinking the same thing. My Peacekeeper arrived last week, and I don't think I've turned it off yet. Next on the purchase list are the Gunshot and the Muffroom Cloud. Great stuff!

The Warthog is also phenomenal. It sounds more like a cooking amp than any pedal I've tried. Harmonic overtones for days.

    ThorpyFX is the future.

They sound great, but the size and pedal format has deterred me a bit. Can anyone speak to it?

yeah, those things are massive. very smart marketing, though. in a sea of big muffs and tubescreamer clones how do you stand out? massive enclosure.

Hard to integrate onto an existing pedal board without a major overhaul. Their tall and long so you want to put them in the back, but the footswitch is angled low so the pedal in front gets in the way and their expensive.

I bought the Warthog after hearing the Youtube clip made by Andertons.
Have to say Warthog is fantastic it's like a gritty overdrive that can go into fuzz territory. What I like about the Warthog is even with the gain dimed you still hear every note you play & the sound quality is the best I've heard from a pedal.

I personally do not think Thorpy pedals are that large - yes if you compare them to the small/mini pedals that have hit the market such as Xotic EP Booster & Wampler Tumnus but they are not much bigger in size to the Boss pedals & the input & output jacks are on the rear of the pedal which is helpful too.

As for the price, well here in the UK they are only about £10 more than what the Wampler Tumnus sells for or £20 more than a Greer pedal. So I guess for us in the UK it's not bad value but you guys further a field it might well be pricey but still worth it!

Have had my eye on the Peacemaker too & are just weigihing up if I want the Peacemaker or a Klon clone like the Wampler Tumnus.

Muffroom Cloud owner here. One of the best pedals I have played in the past 20 years. Million thank you to EHX who pointed me to this great Muff. :banana
Regarding Thorpy's pedal size and format: come on guys, I don't see how this would be a problem to the guys with the 2-3 Strymons, the 2-3 Eventides or even the TC's x4 (I am not one of them).
I read no negative comment about their sound, which is the most important, so I don't think Thorpy has much to worry!

It's mostly the price keeping me away. $300 for a Muff is a tough pill to swallow. It does sound awesome in the vids, though, I'll agree!

I pay 250€ for a thorpy in germany. Same price as a Basic Audio muff. There’s a lot of water between the continents...

The pedal footprint is deigned to fit perfectly across two Pedaltrain rows, and they're only 1/4" or so wider than the standard BOSS pedals.
Regardless, the sound is phenomenal and it gives me chills when I play. It's really really hard to stand out in the overdrive and fuzz market these days, but I think for the most part Thorpy stomps out the competition

These are related topics. A bigger pedal box probably not a guarantee, but definitely a promise.

This example could relativize the somewhat higher pricing. It does for me.

10/10 would recommend. There's so much depth in one little box
